James Wharton showed some impressive confidence during the last race weekend of the 2024 Formula Regional Middle East Championship. He secured a podium finish in Race 2 and a good placing in Race 1 to finish P6. Although Race 3 saw James involved in some tough yet fair battles, which cost him some time, he showcased maturity in handling those challenging situations with ease.

Race 1 was fairly quiet for James, securing a P6 finish and enjoying a good race pace. The substantial result came in Race 2 when he finished fourth at the chequered flag, but a 5-second penalty given to Spanish driver Mari Boya opened the doors to the podium. Race 3 was not so forgiving and forced James to close out the championship by finishing eleventh at the chequered flag.

«It was a weekend of mixed emotions. We are pleased with the P6 ranking in the Championship, but now I am looking forward to returning to Europe and continuing to make progress. Hopefully, we can come back even stronger. Overall, we are happy with what we have achieved in the past five weeks, but we still have a long way to go and a lot of room for improvement».

James Wharton finished 6th in the 2024 Formula Regional Middle East Championship, scoring a total of 111 points. His participation as a rookie in all 15 races, representing Prema for Mumbai Falcon, has been crucial in his preparation for the upcoming Formula Regional European Championship. The first race of the European Championship will take place on May 11th at Hockenheim.
